Bev Stitely, EA, CTC - Managing Partner

As the Managing Partner of Saunders Tax & Accounting, Inc., Bev Stitely is committed to meeting and exceeding the needs of every single client. That is why she has been setting the standard for professionalism and expertise since she started in the industry almost two decades ago. Her desire to develop well-trained and professional staff to better assist clients was evidenced by developing and teaching the Maryland approved Saunders Tax School in 2005. The school continues to this day training aspiring and returning tax professionals. In addition, she teaches an intensive Advanced Tax School to Saunders' advanced preparers which addresses issues that are hot buttons to the IRS as well as covers new tax code. She single-handedly ensures that every preparer is educated about tax law changes and other procedures in an effort to provide every Saunders client with the biggest refund or smallest tax liability possible under IRS rules.

Bev ensures her own professional growth and development by staying active as a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals and as an Enrolled Agent (since 1997). To maintain the E.A. designation, she is required to take 72 hours of continuing education, which aids in keeping her abreast of the continually changing field of tax law. (An Enrolled Agent - E.A. - is an individual who is licensed by the IRS after passing a difficult multi-day examination and rigorous background check thereby demonstrating technical competence in the area of taxation.)

In 2010, Bev also attained the designation of Certified Tax Coach. She focuses on proactive tax planning for clients seeking to find significant savings before the tax deadline approaches.

While she has a passion for the tax business, her heart belongs to her family. Bev has been married to her husband, Doug, since 1986 and together they have two sons, Steven and Brian.

John Saunders II, EA - Chief Financial Officer

With his name attached to the business, John Saunders is personally committed to continuing a reputation based on Honesty, Integrity and Experience. These attributes have been foundational to this 25+ year old company. That is why he and Bev Stitely work closely together to seek new ways of adding even greater value to the services provided to each and every client.

John's professional expertise is in the investment side of the tax planning equation, however he began his career solely focused on tax preparation in 1990. However, client demand for investment advice created a natural segue into the financial arena. Since that time, John has been a Financial Advisor for more than two decades, having been a partner and also owning his own financial planning firm. Today, he is focused on providing customized financial advice to his clients while incorporating his knowledge of tax planning. He is able to suggest ways of tax sheltering income streams that best suit each clients' needs while considering both the short term and long term tax ramifications. As a licensed wealth manager, he is registered with LPL Financial, the nation's largest independent Broker/Dealer.

John has been married to his wife, Stephanne, since 1995 and together they have two sons, Nathan and Logan.

Nancy Saunders - Tax Professional

Now in her 28^th year of tax preparation, Nancy Saunders' experience and personal rapport with her clients make her the most sought-after tax professional on staff. From in-home daycare providers to corporate returns and every type of client return in between, Nancy has the knowledge and resources available to assist her clients with getting the very best possible return.

1973 marked the first year that Nancy Saunders professionally prepared taxes. Eleven years later, Nancy took a leap of faith and opened an office in her home in 1984. The rapid growth of this small office in her home dictated a need for additional space and staff. She then opened an office on Antietam Street, in Hagerstown which later grew into today's Main Office on Virginia Avenue, also in Hagerstown, MD where she works full-time during tax season.

Nancy has been married to her husband, John, since 1966. Together they have 3 grown children, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchilden.
